DepartmentSign HSM for Adobe CDS
DepartmentSign HSM (Hardware Security Module) allows documents to be certified in server based document creation workflows such as Adobe LiveCycle. LiveCycle Digital Signatures ES allows organisations to quickly certify and validate large volumes of Adobe PDF files, such as bank statements or financial reports. A digital credential recognised and trusted by Adobe is issued to a departmental identity and stored on a server-based key management system (such as a crypto HSM) for added protection. The credential is used by the server to apply the digital signature. The PDF file automatically validates when opened in Reader or Acrobat.
DepartmentSign HSM is designed for organisations needing departments (Marketing Department or Legal Department) to create PDFs in volume and add Certifying or Approval Signatures in large numbers.

Certifying Signatures
Using GlobalSign DocumentSign, PDFs can be certified by a person or department by adding a Certifying Signature, and when viewed will present the document recipient with a prominent "blue ribbon" displayed within Adobe Reader. Recipients can then easily determine the document authenticity and authorship. Prior to certifying the document the signer may specify the types of changes allowed for the document to remain certified (e.g. what is allowed without invalidating the Certifying Signature) such as "changes not permitted, form filling only or form filling and commenting".
Approval Signatures
DocumentSign allow PDFs to contain one or more Approval Signatures, added by individuals or departments, and when viewed present the document recipient with a "green checkmark" displayed within the PDF itself. Approval Signatures show which people or departments have consented to, approved or accepted to the contents of the PDF.
